Now that your YouTube channel is up and running, let’s talk about search. Remember how we mentioned that YouTube is the second largest search engine? While creating engaging content is a must, it’s not the only factor for success. There are several things you can do to optimize your videos to rank highly on both YouTube and in Google search results.
Ad campaigns can, and should in many cases, focus on similar products or services. For example, if you run a hardware store, one ad campaign could focus exclusively on autumnal products such as leaf blowers, rakes, and leaf bags, whereas another might focus on power tools and so on.
Your video thumbnail will be the main image viewers see when scrolling through a list of video results, and it can have a large impact of the amount of clicks to and views your video receives. YouTube will auto-generate a few thumbnail options for your video, but we highly recommend uploading a custom thumbnail. YouTube reports that “90% of the best performing videos on YouTube have custom thumbnails.” When filming, think of high-quality shots that accurately represent your video. YouTube recommends using a 1280 x 720 px image to ensure that your thumbnail looks great on all screen sizes.
In addition to helping you find keywords you should be bidding on, thorough keyword research can also help you identify negative keywords – search terms that you should exclude from your campaigns. Negative keywords aren’t terms with negative connotations, but rather irrelevant terms that are highly unlikely to result in conversions. For example, if you sell ice cream, you might want to exclude the keyword “ice cream recipes”, as users searching for ice cream recipes are unlikely to be in the market for your product.
With exact match, your ads can appear only when a shopper searches for your exact keyword, without any other terms in the search. Unlike broad or phrase match, if a shopper searches for additional words before or after your exact keyword, your ad won’t show. Using exact match means that your keywords are targeted more precisely than broad or phrase match.
Keyword match types determine how relevant a shopper’s search has to be to trigger your ad. Headline Search Ads offer broad, phrase, and exact match types. With exact match, your ads can appear only when a shopper searches for your exact keyword, without any other terms in the search. Unlike broad or phrase match, if a shopper searches for additional words before or after your exact keyword, your ad won’t show. Using exact match means that your keywords are targeted more precisely than broad or phrase match. With phrase match, your ad can show when a shopper searches for your exact keyword, or your exact keyword with additional words before or after it. We’ll also show your ad when a shopper searches for close variations of that exact keyword, or with additional words before or after it. With broad match, your ad will appear when a shopper searches for your keyword in any order, including close variants of your keyword. This match type will give your ad the most traffic exposure to a wider audience, but will not be as targeted as phrase or exact match types.
Cost per mille requires only that the publisher make the advertising available on his or her website and display it to the page visitors in order to receive a commission. Pay per click requires one additional step in the conversion process to generate revenue for the publisher: A visitor must not only be made aware of the advertisement but must also click on the advertisement to visit the advertiser’s website.

In the case of cost per mille/click, the publisher is not concerned about whether a visitor is a member of the audience that the advertiser tries to attract and is able to convert, because at this point the publisher has already earned his commission. This leaves the greater, and, in case of cost per mille, the full risk and loss (if the visitor cannot be converted) to the advertiser.

The phrase, “Affiliates are an extended sales force for your business”, which is often used to explain affiliate marketing, is not completely accurate. The primary difference between the two is that affiliate marketers provide little if any influence on a possible prospect in the conversion process once that prospect is directed to the advertiser’s website. The sales team of the advertiser, however, does have the control and influence up to the point where the prospect either a) signs the contract, or b) completes the purchase.
Increasing both the number of keywords and the products you want to advertise to the campaign may increase visibility and drive more impressions for your campaign. Also, consider increasing your bids and budget.
You guessed it right; the biggest influential factor that launched this form of marketing was YouTube. Of course, there were other websites that offer video upload and streaming features but they weren’t as strong as YouTube.

Now that you’ve set up your channel for customization, upload your trailer. Click the arrow upload button in the upper right-hand corner and select your video file. Remember to add keywords to your trailer name and description. Once your video uploads, click on the “For new visitors” tab on your channel homepage.

Friends, coworkers, and even family can be great resources here for finding the locations you need. Keep in mind that for some locations, like businesses and other private property, you will need permission from the owner to film. To keep things simple, it’s best to find your locations through people you know — at least for your first few productions.

For each scene, make sure you film from a few positions so you can edit between the clips. For an interview or video focused on a single individual, this may mean moving the camera from facing the scene head on to filming from a 45-degree angle. In addition to the strategies mentioned earlier, Google offers a number of services that allow you to quickly boost your company’s exposure in search results. If you’ve got a brick and mortar retail location, create a Google My Business page to display your location, phone number, opening hours, aggregate and respond to customer reviews and connect with customers. This listing affects how people see your business when searching on Google.com, Google Maps and Google+. Even if you don’t have a retail location, you should take advantage of Google My Business for your office address. If you’ve got products that you can assign prices and photos to, you’d be wise to use Google Merchant to get on Google Shopping. With this tool, you can create a data feed of your products to Google via a spreadsheet, XML or API-accesssed upload. While the requirements and specifications are strict, an effort to create an accurate data feed could pay big dividents.

I would put this at the very start of the Intermediate bracket, partly because the income has to be sustained over the course of a year. And this bracket is where most established affiliates stay.
